  1. Mubarik Ali Khan has a fantastic voice, and his Shahana is second to none. It’s a pity that we did not have whole of this item. We should all have the pleasure of listening to Mubarik Ali more. I wonder if he belongs to Shaam Chaurasi Gharana? Salim Khan’s solo Tabla was also good.

  2. Do the audience actually listen to the music at these conferences? I ask this because there seems to be a lot of chat around the camera.

  3. When being introduced, it was mentioned that Salim Khan is a shagird of Tafo Khan. I thought he was a really good player.
Amusing how he kept knocking the mic off the stand. But it was a fantastic performance.

Yes, the audience listens. I was very impressed with the number of people who stayed till 5 AM.

Dear Lovers of Indian Classical Music,

We have put together a website for discussing and sharing of Indian Classical Music. We are planning to have a lot of links to high quality music both Hindustani and Carnatic. In time to come, this might become the biggest library for ICM in the world (on the net).

We welcome you to be a part of our endeavor and do your best to serve the interests of ICM lovers.

Easiest way to start would be to register and put up the links to the music that has already been uploaded on to file sharing servers like Rapidupload, Megaupload, esnips, Mediafire, etc

We would also like you to forward this message to your classical music friends.

    Thanking you,

  5. Mubarik Ali has got the best voice in Pakistani classical scene these days, sonorous, powerful and capable. However, he lacks that imaginative Badhrat of raga simply because he was a Qawwal and he did not learn classical music from any ustad. In my humble opinion, he is the best Thumri Singer in Pakistan now.
    Would appreciate your views.
